Early Bird Breakfast Club

Welcome to the Mytchett Primary and Nursery School Early Bird Club – the ‘before school’ club offering quality childcare for Mytchett Primary and Nursery School pupils (Nursery – Year 6) from 7.45 am until 8.40 am (from 7.30 by prior arrangement), Mondays to Fridays. Please note, however, that the Early Bird Club does not run during school holidays or on Inset Days.

The club is situated in the Dining room where children are looked after by qualified members of staff, and can participate in any of the activities on offer daily, before joining others in the school playground at 8.40am. The daily charge is £4 per child and includes breakfast. Doors open at 7.45am (or 7.30am @ £4.50 per child by prior arrangement only) and children must be signed in by the person bringing them. Breakfast consists of toast with various spreads, a vast choice of cereals, fruit and various drinks including fruit juice. The breakfast club is part of the ‘Healthy Schools Programme’.

The Early Bird Club has a strict adult/child ratio and is only able to cater for a maximum of 24 children. Should you wish your child/children to attend, kindly complete the forms below and return them to the school office. (If you are unable to print at home copies of the forms can be picked up from the office). Payment can be made by cash, cheque, online transfer or childcare vouchers, which may be available through your employer. Cheques should be made payable to ‘Mytchett Primary School’.

The club does not have facilities to look after children who are unwell and therefore we ask you to fill in a contact/medical sheet for each child giving us information of any medical/dietary issues, together with contact numbers of at least two people who would be able to collect your child in the event of an emergency between 7.45 am and 8.40 am. These may well be different contacts or phone numbers from the ones held in the School Office which are used during ‘school’ hours.

Please note that the minimum daily charge is £4. Refunds will only be given if the school has to close the breakfast club and not for any other absence, such as sickness or holiday. Should you have any queries, please contact Mrs Upton or the school office on 01252 544009.

Please be aware that parking in the staff car park is NOT allowed as teachers are arriving at this time.

After School

The school does not currently run an after school care club. We have an excellent relationship with high quality local child minders who are the preferred choice of childcare for our working parents- unlike school-based clubs this care is able to continue throughout school holidays.
Our attached Children’s Centre is able to supply you with contact information for child minders locally. In addition we hold regular ‘meet the child minder’ evenings for parents looking for care and also hold weekly ‘Play and Stay’ sessions at our Centre for child minders of 0-4s.
