Curriculum Intent
The curriculum we have created at Mytchett Primary School is based upon the acquisition and application of knowledge and skills.
We view learning as a long-term process and so provide a curriculum that enables all children to learn, retain and apply knowledge and skills that they can transfer across the curriculum. To achieve this, a culture of curiosity and mastery underpins the curriculum and each discipline. We want our children to be engaged in meaningful learning, to have a passion for individual subjects and to be able to see themselves as lifelong learners. We provide learning opportunities through broad themes which enable the children to make logical connections between the different aspects of their learning. The development of language is a priority for us and we immerse the children in a language rich environment to support them in securing subject specific vocabulary.
